Nope, we're not moving again.
The title of this entry refers to relocating the various pieces of Logan's elbow joint, which I, the Worst.Mother.In.The.World., dislocated tonight :(
It all started off so innocent! (Innocently? I have no idea.) Ben still can't jump, so every so often, over the past year, we play a game where we hold hands, bend our knees, then I jump up and kind of pull him up in the air with me. The kid is so light, he actually gets quite a bit of air. He *loves* this game. Well of course today Logan wanted in on it, too. I gave Ben 2 turns, then Logan 2 turns, then Ben 2 turns, then Logan 2 turns. On what turned out to be Logan's last turn, He squealed in pain after the jump, during which I felt something pop or snap in his left arm. I did the general soothing-type things that mommies do, but Logan stil cried. A minute later, I noticed that something was funny with his left arm - it was just hanging at a weird angle and he was holding it close to his body, not moving it at all. I turned into a diagnostician and held his paci out to his left side - he didn't take it. That was my definite indicator that something was not right.
Fortunately my mom is visiting so I asked her if she agreed that something wasn't right - she agreed. After a few frenzied moments of wondering if I should take him to the ER because I was sure his arm was broken, I got real and called the on-call pediatrician. She was sure it was just "nursemaid's elbow," not broken. She actually lives down the road from us, so told us that if we could make him comfortable for 1.5 hours, she could come by at 7:30. It was just after 6 when we talked. Logan was so pathetic and pitiful... the seconds ticked by so unbelievably slowly. I was so glad that my mom was here to help out with Ben - I really don't know how I would have handled the situation by myself - after all, it was dinner time and Ben still needed to be tended to.
The doctor finally turned up at 7:45, did a brief assessment, and promptly put Logan's elbow back together. He wailed for a few minutes, then was back to his old self. We were all so relieved! It was so disheartening to see him not be able to do the things he usually does with ease - even picking up a toy car had been impossible.
It's hard to believe that I've been a parent for over 2.5 years and this is the first real "incident" we've had. I've said from the beginning that Logan would be the accident-prone one - the one with the broken limbs and trips to the ER. I just didn't think his accidents would be due to my carelessness!
I'm glad he's better.
No more practicing jumping in this house!

Awwww poor guy! Natalie has had several incidences of this happening... we've had to take her to the ER once for it (where it popped back in on its own before even seeing the doctor!).
